Artificial Intelligence in Family Medicine
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform health care delivery, education, research, and administrative operations, the Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP) is committed to providing its members with timely, credible, and practical guidance.
AI is rapidly becoming an integral component of modern medical practice. For family physicians, understanding its capabilities, limitations, ethical considerations, and regulatory implications is no longer optional—it is essential. Through education and thoughtful engagement, FAFP seeks to equip its members to critically evaluate emerging technologies, reduce uncertainty, and responsibly leverage innovation to enhance patient care, improve practice efficiency, and uphold the core values of family medicine.
Purpose of this AI Resource Page
This Artificial Intelligence resource page has been developed to serve as a centralized starting point for family physicians who are interested in learning more about AI and its evolving role in clinical practice. Many of the resources featured here are drawn from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and are shared for informational and educational purposes only. Inclusion of any resource does not constitute endorsement by FAFP.
Given the pace at which AI technologies are developing, this page is not intended to be an exhaustive compilation. The AI landscape continues to expand across areas such as clinical documentation, decision support, population health management, patient engagement, and operational efficiency. FAFP will continue to monitor developments and update this section with additional relevant resources as they become available.
We encourage you to explore these resources, stay informed, and approach AI not with apprehension, but with informed leadership.
