Coming Soon: Prebooking for the 2007-2008

Influenza Season

Dear Health-Care Professional:
Prebooking for the 2007-2008 influenza season is coming soon!
Influenza vaccination is the primary method of preventing influenza and its severe complications. Prebooking your influenza vaccine is the best way to prepare for the upcoming 2007-2008 influenza season. To help you prepare for the upcoming influenza season, you may prebook Fluzone®, Influenza Virus Vaccine beginning February 21, 2007.

This year, there are two methods to prebook:
Log on and receive a 2 percent savings (offer applies to online requests only)
• Call 1-800-VACCINE (1-800-822-2463)

All prebook requests will be processed with the same attention and care, whether the request is placed online or over the telephone. You will receive a receipt of your request via e-mail or fax within 72 hours. Prior to shipping, you will receive a shipping alert notifying you of the estimated time for shipment and the amount of vaccine to be provided in the shipment.

Terms and Conditions

All prebook requests are subject to sanofi pasteur’s Terms and Conditions of Sale in effect at the time of shipment confirmation, copies of which are available upon request or at www.vaccineshoppe.com. Due to the uncertain nature of future vaccine supplies, we cannot guarantee that any particular amount of influenza vaccine will be shipped.

Safety Information
Fluzone vaccine is indicated in persons 6 months and older for active immunization against influenza virus types A and B contained in the vaccine. The most common adverse reactions to Fluzone vaccine are soreness at the vaccination site that can last up to 2 days, pain, and swelling; fever, malaise, and myalgia. Influenza vaccine should not be administered to anyone with a history of hypersensitivity to any vaccine component, including eggs, egg products, or thimerosal (the only presentation that contains thimerosal is the multi-dose vial). As with any vaccine, vaccination with Fluzone vaccine may not protect 100 percent of individuals. Fluzone vaccine should not be administered to individuals who have a prior history of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). Because any intramuscular injection can cause injection site hematoma, Fluzone vaccine should not be given to persons with any bleeding disorder, such as hemophilia or thrombocytopenia, or to persons on anticoagulant therapy unless the potential benefits clearly outweigh the risk of administration. If the decision is made to administer Fluzone vaccine to such persons, it should be given with caution, with steps taken to avoid the risk of hematoma formation following injection. Before administering Fluzone vaccine, please see accompanying full Prescribing Information.

Sincerely,
Margaret Voytek
